On-Campus Housing

The 2011 North American Taiko Conference has prepared exciting on-campus housing packages that offer affordable lodging and meals with fun opportunities to meet and network with fellow taiko players!

  • Rooms
  • The on-campus housing is provided at Roble Hall, a comfortable and centrally-located dormitory in walking distance of all Taiko Conference events. The dorm setting provides communal areas for interaction along with optional Taiko-Conference-facilitated after-hours activities. Bathrooms and showers are stall-type shared areas. Two-night and three-night reservations, as well as single and double-occupancy options are available.

Supplied linens include: bedspread, sheets, blanket, pillow and pillowcase, two towels, and one washcloth. A small bar of soap, soap dish, and paper cups are also provided.

  • Meals
  • Roble Hall's nearby dining facility provides delicious and healthy food including fresh, organic fruits and vegetables, make-your-own salad bar, vegetarian and vegan selections, and soft-serve ice cream for hot August days!

The three-night, on-campus housing packages include breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Friday, August 19, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday, August 20, and breakfast and a to-go lunch on Sunday, August 21.

The two-night, on-campus housing packages includes dinner on Friday, August 19, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday, August 20, and breakfast and a to-go lunch on Sunday, August 21.

A separate meal plan is also available, providing a total of 4 meals from Lakeside Dining. Lunch and dinner are provided on Friday, Aug 18, and lunch and dinner on Saturday, Aug 19.

Lunches will be delivered to a central location for easy pick up.

  • Cost
  • On-campus housing packages range from $355 (three-night, single-occupancy) to $240 (two-night, double-occupancy). These packages include everything you need for a comfortable stay during Taiko Conference, without the hassle and expense of driving to and from campus every day.

Compare the $355 single-occupancy three-day package to this conservative total cost of off-campus hotel and meals.

    • average hotel $85 x 3 nights = $255
    • 8 meals x $10 = $80
    • car rental x 4 days = $113.97 (with Avis discount. Does not include insurance or gas)
    • parking permit x 4 days = $14
    • Total = $462.97
