STI and Taiko Ten applications due this Saturday!

Due to the downtime here at taikoconference.org, we have extended the due date of the Summer Taiko Institute and Taiko Ten applications by a day. Both are now due this Saturday, Apr 9, by 11:59pm.

If you've been waiting to apply for either (or both!) of these exciting programs, now is the time!

Registration is available again!

Online registration is up and running again! My sincere apologies for the delays. Our previous hosting provider broke our site during a hardware upgrade and wouldn't help us fix it. We switched to a new provider but then had to wait for our new security system to be certified. (For you tech-savvy types, it's a bad time to be working with SSL cert stuff due to the recent Comodo problems.)

Anyway, after a bit of blood, sweat, and tears, online payments are tested and available! As always, if you run into any issues, don't hesitate to let me know.

Thank you for your patience and all the great energy! Yuta and I are so pleased with the enthusiastic response to the Summer Taiko Institute program, the new Composition Mentorship program, and the workshop offerings. Thanks to you all, it's going to be a great Conference!

Taiko Ten and Summer Taiko Institute applications due tomorrow!

Just a quick reminder to let you know that the Taiko Ten and STI applications are due tomorrow (April 8) by 11:59pm.
Don't miss any opportunity to perform at Conference and learn from the amazing master - Suzuki Kyosuke!

Once again, we are terribly sorry for the Registration downtime. If we cannot get the system running by this weekend, we will consider extending the 1st Tier Deadline.

Hosting provider issues

So sorry about the downtime! Just when everything is working perfectly...

Our hosting provider upgraded their hardware and parts of our site went wonky. They weren't much help in fixing the problem, so we've moved to a new provider. We're hoping to have our secure checkout stuff set up again by the beginning of next week.

Planned downtime at TaikoConference.org

Our website hosting provider is upgrading our hardware. TaikoConference.org will be unavailable tonight from 10:00pm March 30, to 3:00am March 31st 2011 (Pacific Standard Time). My apologies for any inconvenience.

Registration opens with a bang!

Wow! A ton of activity and correspondence is happening here at taikoconference.org. More than 60 registrations on the first day alone! Thank you to everyone for the enthusiasm, support, and great feedback. As always, if you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to let us know. Yuta and I are really excited about this Conference!

Registration is now open!

Registration for 2011 Taiko Conference is now open! We've tried to streamline the registration process and make the checkout system as smooth as possible. I'm sure there are still bugs here and there, so let us know if you run into any issues!

Here's how registration works...

In the "Conference Registration" page (link in the left-hand menu), you'll find three "registration products" (green frame), corresponding to the three ways you can attend Conference: Participant, Youth Program Participant, and Observer. Adding one of these to your cart and completing payment will register you for Conference. At checkout time, you can specify a username and password (or one will be created for you) so that you can log into taikoconference.org and make your workshop and discussion session preference selections.

You can pay for multiple registrations by adding "Register someone else as a XXX" (orange frame) products to your cart. You can only add these one at a time, and with each additional registration you must provide a unique email address. We will create user accounts for these additional registrations and send their login info to their email address.

Planned downtime at TaikoConference.org

Starting Friday evening, TaikoConference.org will be temporarily unavailable as we transition to open registration and test our new payment gateway. We will send an email to the NATC mailing list when the site is back up and registration is open.

Thank you everyone for your encouragement on the new site. We're getting very close!
